The purpose of reflexology is to encourage and support the body to repair, regenerate and heal itself naturally; to restore equilibrium and balance.

Reflexology is a holistic complementary therapy shown to date back thousands of years. It is a precise pressure technique applied to specific points (reflexes) throughout the feet, hands or ears. The principle behind reflexology is that the body is reflected as a ‘map’ on these areas. By understanding a client’s current state of wellbeing and working with the reflexes through systematic use of pressure, a skilled reflexologist can work to support the areas of the body that need it most.

Clinical reflexology is extremely relaxing, but it should not be confused with a foot massage! Reflexology stimulates nerves and increases blood flow, which then helps the body eliminate toxins and revitalise energy levels, therefore encouraging the natural healing process. Reflexology can be a valuable way of indicating areas where stress or tension are present in the body and can assist to relieve that discomfort

“I have been seeing Alison for nearly 2 years after moving into the Timperley area. Alison is very focused on understanding what treatment is going to help you at a particular point. This has really helped me better deal with various health and emotional events typical in midlife. A great listener and positive motivator. I feel so much better after a session - definitely recommend”

We will ask you to complete a thorough health and wellbeing consultation when we first meet you. This helps us tailor the reflexology to your specific needs. We are trained in numerous reflexology techniques that support different conditions and states of wellness. We will discuss with you the best way to support your wellbeing goals, and can make recommendations for a treatment plan going forward should you wish.

“I recently had a course of 12 treatments with Alison. Despite my early scepticism, over the period I had reflexology I experienced less pain than usual, and had more energy…. I also appreciated taking time each week to reflect on my approach to my illness and to its daily impact on my life.”

Treatments last up to an hour, and are deeply relaxing. Reflexology is thought to support a wide range of health and wellbeing issues, and our clients report tangible improvements in how they are feeling. Whether it’s managing stress, balancing hormones, supporting conception and pregnancy, relief from pain, anxiety and mood disturbances, poor sleep or any combination of these, reflexology may help your body to naturally balance and function efficiently, so you can feel better.

Some clients may benefit from a course of treatments, depending on their wellbeing goals. Others may find relief after just one session. We will work with you to determine what might be best for you and your individual circumstances. Discounts are available for block bookings.

We are trained to see adults and children, and also run classes for parents and carers who would like to learn reflexology techniques to use at home with their children.

“[The] baby & child reflexology class has taught me some wonderful techniques to help my daughter with sleep, teething, wind, coughs and colds and so much more! It has also been a wonderfully relaxing hour bonding with my baby girl and I have looked forward to the class every week. I leave feeling calmer and better prepared to tackle the challenges of being a new mum! My absolute favourite baby class”

Treatments are priced at £50. Children’s treatments (aged 11 and under) are priced at £30. Discounts are available if you wish to book 6 or more sessions, so please ask!

“I received a treatment from Alison when I was 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. At the time I was experiencing blocked sinuses and struggling to sleep. I couldn’t believe the improvement that very night – I had a full nights sleep for the first time in days! On top of that I found the treatment very relaxing, Alison put me at ease, helped me understand the benefits of reflexology and was very professional.”

Alison Ford (Founder; Clinical Reflexologist and Life Coach)

I qualified as a children's mental health nurse in 1998 and worked for over 15 years with children and families who experienced complex and challenging health and well-being issues. I have always held the firm belief that it is vital to work with the 'whole person', rather than simply treat and support a list of symptoms or problems.

When I retrained as a clinical reflexologist it was important to me to undertake a detailed and credible training programme I'm delighted to be one of the first cohort to qualify with a Centralia Reflexology Mastership through Jubilee College . This means I am a qualified to the highest available standard (Level 5), with a Level 4 Anatomy & Physiology certification.

Claire Winter (Clinical Reflexologist)

For over 18 years, I worked for a global, blue chip company. I managed various customer service and sales teams, developing people and chasing business deadlines and sales targets.

In my latter years, I became increasingly aware of the detrimental effects that this target driven environment had on people, as well as the business costs associated with sick days and work-related stress. This led me to explore complementary therapies and their benefits. Reflexology stood out as I saw and experienced first-hand how regular treatments can support the reduction of stress and anxiety and in turn improve overall well-being.

From these experiences it was clear to me that reflexology was needed to help and heal in this busy world of deadlines and expectations. I am qualified to Level CRM5 Diploma in reflexology of the hand, foot, ears and NEPIP protocol.
